Coaching & Mentoring
Do you need support that is caring whilst challenging; that comes from a place of cultural affinity and lived experience?
Do you want to:
• Self-advocate, say NO to others - and YES to yourself – by setting boundaries?
• Overcome fear around showing up for yourself and take up space?
• Develop strategies to deal with racial, intersectional and other forms of stress?
• Prioritise guilt free self-care whilst navigating difficult choices and 'work-life balance'?
• Be creative and bold in your research whilst fulfilling REF or organisational requirements?
• Stay committed to your ethical commitments and values whilst also achieving ‘success', ‘progression’ and being an exceptional leader?
• Deal with isolation in academia, networking, building community?
If any of the above resonate or you have other issues you would like coaching or mentoring on, I am currently offering 6 sessions of 60 minutes over the next academic year (October 2024 to July 2025) to work on specific goals for 8 individuals.
These bundles are offered on a sliding scale fee structure.
If you would like a free 20-minute discovery call including a taster of my coaching style, then please reach out to me.
I would love to hear from you if you would like to chat about any of the above or other issues you would like to explore/be coached or mentored on.
My spaces are limited, but I do have a waitlist if you would like to be added.

My Experience

I have over 20 years’ experience working within Higher Education (HE), including leadership roles in research and education and am an award-winning law teacher recognised for my sector leading work in antiracist (legal) pedagogy and decolonising the curriculum.
I first came to coaching on a training for Leadership in Areas of Significant Responsibility (LASR). I went on to train as a coach as part of an Academic Coaching for Excellent (ACE) programme for 'BAME' and other marginalised students seeking to overcome structural barriers and realise their potential during their studies. I have been an empowering academic mentor and supervisory chair for postgraduate students and regularly run workshops for both undergraduate and postgraduate as well as early career scholars.
In 2023 I qualified as an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited Certificate in Foundations of Embodied Coaching and have an apprenticeship and Institute of Leadership Management (ILM) Level 5 Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring.
I use coaching techniques in my role as Co-Director of Research to support colleagues to achieve their research goals, as well as in managing teams and academic career mentoring and run workshops on inclusive research environment and research empowerment.
Before entering HE, I worked in advocacy, campaigning and research for organisations from the UN, Amnesty International UK, Stonewall to smaller NGOs and grassroots organisations. More about my academic roles and work here.
